This is a live plugin which requires a separate field (typically a text field) to apply the date to. Options include date format which gives you the
ability to choose from the Joomla presets or custom if desired. Return JText offers the option to add (translatable) text surrounding the date. Example: if you enter Today is %s it will output
Today is April 15th, 2013 (if that's the date format you chose).
Once installed, it will appear in the Live column of Admin and Site views in Form & Content Types and in Search Form view of List & Search Types with #2 selected.
Note: Live Values are only applied for submission.. (when you add new items)
When you edit existing ones, Live plug-ins are not applied anymore.. in that case all fields are filled by their stored value.

Useful field for storing date
Didn't work with data field, only text field.
