Hello,

Adress to Coordinates doesn´t work on adresses which are indexed in Google as "places" does anyone have experiences in handling this? for example: Gewerbepark Schoenthal 1, 91287 Plech, Germany -> if you type this in Google the adress is recognized already as McDo and pointed to the right position in map. But Seblod ignores the street and points to citycenter. (Seblod 3.10.0 and latest adress to coordinates plugin)

Thanks,

Elisa

All address to coordinates does is to send address to google and get coordinates back. But if you use seb_maps you don't need that, you can directly pass address to map and google should recognize it as a place.

Hi Klas, i pass the adress through the Adress to coordinates field but it doesn´t work for adresses which are recognized as places in google maps. Like for the given adress above, when i use this adress seblod doesn´t put the marker (lat/long)  right...

How did you configure your field? (screenshot would be the best)

Hello Klas, thanks! This is how it´s set up and it works for all adresses which are recognized in Google as an adress, but not for adresses that are transformed in google into places. For the example, type in Gewerbepark Schoenthal 1, 91287 Plech, Germany in Google maps Google redirects you then to a url which begins with https://www.google.be/maps/place/McDonald's+Restaurant/@49.663871,11.4685463 ... however when i type in this adress or other adresses which are recognized in Google as "place" into the item the marker is not set right. For other adresses is works normally.

Hi again, need to push the topic because i didn´t find a solution yet.

If you test this adress or a place, does it work for you, Klas?

thanks,

Elisa

Hi Elisa,

i have a map with adresses that are places in Google Maps. But i don't see that their markers are very far off. I do saw that behaviour with adresses that were 'new' or when the postal code was filled out wrong. Not really wrong, but Google interprets it differently. So postcode 1234 GB should be 1234GB (or the other way around, I don't remember it that specific.

Thank you Pathos, in my case the zip codes are only Numeric, so this doesn´t help. That´s really odd :(

Hi,

I think Google have recently changed their map api - I had maps up and running on a site I'm developing, but they have stopped working properly, now I have the same problem as you!

If I find a solution, I'll post it here :)
