Hi

I have produced a functionality using K2 but it is very manual and I would like to change to Seblod:

It is about herbal medicine monographs: I need standardised fields and then typical joomla articles in categories associated with each herbal monograph.

Tabs showing the fields

Menu of related articles for the particular herbal monograph showing up on the category page

live example: Example site

Could someone with experience with Seblod suggest the best way to achieve this in Seblod?

I notice that there is a Tab plugin so I assume that will take care of the that, but how to deal with the requirement for many articles in subcategories and a menu to display it? Any best practice tips please, before I start learning Seblod.

thank you so much

Hello thombody,

Is there a reason for having separate articles for every aspect of the plant?
(Overview, Traditional, Plant Part, etc)

one way to build this with SEBLOD is:

  • List of Articles / Categories (List & Search Type)
  • custom Content Type (article for the plant)
  • Field GroupX (tab and content)
  • Field Image and Field textarea wysiwyg (content of tab, inside of GroupX)
  • Typography for displaying the GroupX field as tabs
  • Field Related Article

That's what I would begin learning about

ok, got as far as getting the tabs and some simple fields. But I don't understand the group x - is there a tutorial?

Also, adding a related article seem to cross refer with the K2 component I have installed!!

The link to a related article brings up a 404 error and I can see in the url that it contains a K2 link. Odd?

(the related article is a normal joomla article in a Seblod categroy - it is not related to anything in K2).

Clicking on Research in the link below produces the error:

Related article link

If anyone can suggest a fix, thank you

I have tried substituting option=com_k2 with option=com_content in your url and the page displays the content: article about inflammation

However, it does not seam to be a seblod content (famous cck divs are missing in html).

Have you tried selecting related content which is already seblod content?

Hi, yes, it is a Seblod article in a Seblod category - newly created as a test article. I am perplexed as to why it is trying to load a K2 article.

Going directly to this article via a menu will display the article correctly, however, I don't see the "famous" cck divs?? Does that suggest it is a "normal" joomla article? and not a Seblod article? I thought they were they same when created via Seblod. I am confused.

This is the link to the article showing the tabs. Under research there are links to related articles which points to K2:

http://phytosciences.org/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=183:harpagophytum-procumbens-devil-s-claw&catid=140&Itemid=435&lang=en

Clicking on the Research tab and then clicking on the osteoarthritis article brings up the K2 error:

http://phytosciences.org/newsite/index.php?view=article&id=179:devil-s-claw-and-osteoarthritis&Itemid=435&option=com_k2&lang=en

thank you

Have you checked if K2 router plugin is ordered (order 0) before Seblod router?

sorry, I have not known about component routers. I don't have any plugins with that word in the name, are they called something else?

It's a System - K2 plugin, but as a good measure you might check also Search - K2 plugin.

System - SEBLOD and Search - SEBLOD have to be lower than K2 plugins, so that they trigger before.

Tried to change the order, but it made no difference. Perhaps K2 and Seblod can't co-exist. I just wanted to keep the K2 items until everything had been changed over to Seblod.

Anyway, the Related article option didn't work for my purpose anyway. Thank you for trying to help.
