Hi,
The image field works great when uploading a new picture. But what if I want to select a previously uploaded picture instead of uploading a new one??

Isn't the solution to use a different field type, ie Media?
I hear what you are saying, ie choose to select a local file or one already uploaded form the same field (which is a common and expected user experience).
That's what the media field does...
I hope I haven't got the wrong end of the stick....
