SD Field Concat V2.5.3 has just been released and it contains a critical bug fix where the next auto increment values were not being obtained correctly, and were not being stored at all.
Thank you to Pixelneco for bringing this to my attention, thus allowing the bug to be squashed.
You may now use the <content> syntax to get the next auto increment (next ID) of a table. Simply replace the word 'content' with that of any table in your Joomla! database to get the next auto increment. For example, to get the next auto increment ID of the categories table, you would use this syntax:
<category>
While to get the next ID value of the content table, you would use this syntax:
<content>

I'm using the SD Field Concat to write code for a Paypal button to be displayed in my content, and this works fine. I'm trying to add it a conditional state so when another field has some value, the SD Field Concat is empty (without value) but I cant make it work.
What I need is that when my radio field has the value "yes" my concat field has the value of the parameters I wrote in it and the paypal button is visible, but when my radio field has the value "no" my concat field value is empty and the paypal button is not visible.
Does it is possible with the SD Field Concat ?

thank you for the Concat field. It is really useful and I've been using it a lot on different projects ever since you published it.
I haven't been using SEBLOD in a while and now I bought and downloaded SD Concat V2.5.3. to use it on a client's site.
I needed to get the article id to concatenate with other stuff. So I followed your instructions on the product page where the described syntax is #art_id#. Of course it wouldn't get the id at all. I soon realized that the column name for article id is "id" and tried that. It always returned a "0". Now what the heck?
After an hour or so of trial and error and searching around, I got enlightened by this thread about the new syntax <conent> (in my case). I thought wow - great. Now we can get auto increment values from any table. How smart is that.
But I also wished I had found this information an hour ago. Would have saved me time and headaches.
So maybe you want to update the instructions on the product page so that people know how to use this new feature.
SEBLOD still can be very frustrating, even for experienced users. The documentation is still far from optimal. I don't mind paying for useful extensions like your's. But at least for paid extensions I would expect up to date documentation that saves us the frustration of time consuming searches here and with Google.

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Something definitely slipped through the cracks when I did my documentation, as it appears as though I never completed the paragraph on getting the ID.
I apologize profusely for the frustration experienced in terms of trying to find the solution when it should be readily available from within the documentation screen.

And thank you for your kind words. I know my ways around Seblod pretty well after having used it over the past 3 years. But power user, I don't know. My PHP skills are not that good. I wish I could get my head around writing field plugins. And, as I said it still can be frustrating sometimes because of lack of documentation which really is a problem that drives off many people who are new to the system.
As for the loyality, I'm also using other systems - whatever suits the project best. But when it comes to using a CCK with Joomla, Seblod is my first choice. For many tasks Joomla has such a big overhead of code and things that I never use. Just recently I discovered ProcessWire which offers total flexibilty in designing your content types, a very well structured API with lean code that gives you full control over your template and, best off all, a great, friendly community with real good and quick support.
I'm not saying that this or that system is better. It always depends on the project requirements. But after having finished 2 projects with PW, I find it a pleasure to work with and I'm glad having found an alternative to the Joomla-Seblod combo.
