I tried to use select dynamic cascade across two content types where the second is a child type of the first, and it seems not to work (parent value is not arriving from parent type to content type): is it supposed to work?

Probably nobody thought of this possibility before, you can add feature request on the tracker. Try if it works with unlocked storages.
