Hello

I have made a content form type  with several fields for 'admin' 'site' 'intro' and 'content' views  including 'article category id' and 'calendar (date)'.

For 'content' I use the template 'SD Simple Simon' and I display the results via the menutype  'Category Blog'.

The results are  fine so far , but I want that the articles are sorted automatically by the date of the calendar form field.

Is it possible to sort articles in a Content /Form type by a (date) field?

Thank you for your help?

Hello Henning,

if you use the standard Joomla Article created field as your date field you can set the ordering by date in the menu item configuration just like with standard Joomla install.

If you want to sort by a custom date field, you need to make a new List&Search type based on your content type and then use the menu type SEBLOD List&Search.

In the List&Search type in Tab "Ordering" you can insert your custom date field and set the ordering by date to descending or ascending.

Thank you for your answers. But I like to use the sd simple simon template, which does not work with a list&search type.

Hi Heko,

What is the relationship between what has been explained by "geeber" and template "SD Simple Simon"?

the template exists to render graphically the results of a search. Geeber explains in his last post how you can define a custom order by report a custom calendar field.

Conclusion : you can follow what geeber explains and you can use the template "SD Simple Simon".

Mehdi.
