I am trying tonight to purpose front editing of K2 items. I could imagine do the same thing for the main cck (flexicontent, fabrik, seblod...)

Hi,

not sure how this works, but to be able to edit some part of the content by clicking on it, I presume you would need to load content object with ajax and then change the right field and save it - tricky part here would be to recognize fields (match changed content with the right field) as users can totally customize markup there is no generic way to do this. K2's structure is is few magnitudes simpler than Seblods.

Hi,

I am Jean-Marc from nextgenEditor.

To be honnest, this is the beginning. we cannot go too fast. :-)

I think it could be a good idea to try to link our components and our editor with some seblod content. For the moment I didn't go further. I don't even know if it is possible.

I agree : it is not easy. K2 is pretty simple, but Seblod is a more complete solution with structured content.

Inline editing is not simple : needs ajax, and especially to retrieve information about the structure in every field.

We did that way for our components, where you can edit individually each property : content (title, subtitle, rich content...), but also each theming property (border color, border width, ...) that is not visible yet.

To be usable, we would need to have in each seblod rendered content some extra attributes about the structure, and then the possibility to save each information in a proper way with ajax. This is if we want pure inline editing.

But our first goal is mostly to purpose front-editing, even without inline editing. It can also be simplier to purpose a global form containing the whole content, with the different input fields. I don't know if there is already some existing things or not for that purpose.

I don't know at that time what can be usefull and possible. We are just starting our new project, and it seems that many people are interested with inline editing.

Voilà! :-)
