Hi,
for an easier workflow it would be nice to apply a function to change content type for articles and category there are already stored. Could this couse in any problems, should i avoid this?
If i place the cck field content type on admin form i can change the value, but the change is not saving. How can i store the change?

You can't do this easily. Shortest way would be to copy/paste content to a new item.
