Hello,
I created a contact form not more than four fields and a submit button. On clicking on the submit button the page loads but its not submitting to both the backend and the database (phpmyadmin). Infact the cck contact form created was not even showing on phpmyadmin.

This is happening on both pre-installed joomla templates (protoster) and other downloaded templates.

Please, kindly help out.

I am using seblod 3.16.3 and joomla 5.6

What fields tou created and what is storage set to i.e

#__content

#__cck_store_item_content

#__cck_store_form_mycontenttype

What about other content types, if you create another one what happens?

bucklash,

Am sorry for the late response. I have been on hospital bed in the last 48 hours.

The cck_store_form_contact form was never created in the database after I had created the form. This should have been automatic.

This is what I did.

1. I created a new app folder called form and set the parent to top

2. I created a content type called contact and set the app folder to form which was created above and I saved.

3. Then I began to create the fields and set the permissions allowed.

4. The forms appears on the front end but on the backend it does not. likewise the validation that was set was not working although the fields are asterisk on the front end but the validation was not functioning

Please help out

Also check if any javascript errors are present on the page before/after submit.

klas,

Sorry for the late response likewise.

I have checked no message. but the surprising part is that after clicking submit no message is displayed.

I am kind of confused.

When you created content type, which storage object did you choose? Only reason that table was not created is that you choose object "None" or "Free", with all others should table be created.

Hello,

Yes the storage object I used was standard/article. Is anything wrong with that?

If I had that issue I would

1

‘akeeba back up’

2

restore backup to new db

3

delete content type

4

recreate

5

compare results

6

give more info

7

hope Klas can help out :D

Try recreating the content type, see if storage table is created this time before you add many fields.

Hello Klas,
I just created a content type and saved it without adding any field, and went straight to PhpMyAdmin.

It is still the same. No table created.

What can be done please?

Hello,

Again because I was seriously worried I had to do this.

I uninstalled both joomla and seblod on my localhost. I installed a fresh copy of both joomla 3 and seblod 3.16.

The outcome is still the same.

Hence, there must be something wrong somewhere.

Please help out.

I’m no guru on this, but Have you got a different environment to try that again ie on sitground server rather than local host etc?

Hi,

Yes, it's an environment/hosting issue. It seems you have not right permission on your database.

Thanks.

Hello klas, octopoos,

No i dont think it is an environment issue.

1. It is done on a live server.

2. I tested it again on my localhost, that I refer to in my last post, the same is the outcome.

3. This is the reason I said please let me give out my hosting details to help me take a look via an email.

Please help out

Hello All,

Please this problem still persist. Seblod was working perfectly on the site before i decided to redesign it.

The hosting has not changed,  it is still the same hosting.

The only chaged things here are

1. Version  of new joomla installed

2. Version of new sebold installed

3. A new template was also used.

Infact I thought it was the template, I had to switch to one of the inbuilt joomla template (protoster), yet the fields are not

Validating,  not submitting, and no thank you message displayed after clicking the submit button.

Although the submit button is clickable and refreshes and return back to the same page.

Please house, help out.

Hi,

you have something seriously broken on your installation or your hosting, it is impossible to tell what the problem is without seeing any errors. You should check your php and apache error logs, also check for javascript errors on the page. You can google yourself to find out how to do it or ask your hosting provider to help you.

Hello klas,

But this is happening g on both hosting and localhost servers.

By the way, could it be compatibility issues. My hosting is php 5 just as my localhost is also php too because I have taking time to go through the configuration.

Please I need answers. Thanks
