Hi,

We are currently using seblod to create a couple of different content types (based on article) in our Joomla instance. We want to create a search that works across all of those content types (including the built in article and virtuemart). The simplest solution seems to be use the build in Joomla search, however we can't seem to find a way to make that search work on anything other than the default/built in Joomla fields.

We would like the search to include results that come from our own custom types, Data stored in j25_cck_store_form_X tables.

I have spent a bit of time searching on the forums haven't found anything specifically addressing this issue.

Is there a way to do this with the build in Seblod tools, or do we need to create a custom search plugin that joins and searches on any additional tables we want?

Thanks,

Jesse

Hi

Thought I'd offer a tip:

If you want to get Seblod support, really you need to upgrade your membership.. These forums are mainly for community members.

Also, have available the response from Virtuemart on Searching their content in Joomla.

Hi,

Thanks Bucklash, you're right.

@JesseHammil, you need to use a field to filter content types (standard free storage, cck field, table #_cck_core). Search the field called "cck". With this field you will be able to say SEBLOD in which content types you want to search. About "in which field" you want to search you can easily all Joomla common fields such as title, created date.. the search generic field (see this product on market place).

There are a lot to say on this topic such as to used the SEBLOD common table to have some common custom fields between different content types, which will increase search performance.

Thanks.
