Upon creating a job applications website I am using SEBLOD.
So far so great.

  1. Apps: made Job-openings
  2. Fields: made fields for Job-openings
  3. Forms & Content Types: copied Article > Job-openings, renamed to Jobs, added fields
  4. List & Search Types: copied Article > Job-openings, renamed to Jobs, added fields
  5. Joomla Menu: Added Menu type Seblod >> List & Search >> Jobs
Made some articles in Back-end based on Jobs. Everything is displaying fine.

For Jobs, I need to have a select for Branche. The choices for select are around 50. I thought to use Tags for that.
For Jobs, I need to have a select for Function-group. The choices for select are around 30. I thought to use Categories for that.

Now the question is:
Since I copied. The 'normal' tags and categories are also in Jobs.
No big thing, but I want to separate normal Joomla articles from Jobs 'articles'.

Is there an easy way of doing that, or do I need to simply create a new list as extra field? Which is NOT what SEBLOD is saying: why create when you can re-use...

Another question I have is this: I need to store cities or have a select list based on a pre-select. How to make that happen?
For example: first select box is select-StateA, second select box give choices for selecting a CitiesInStateA. etc.

Hi bwakad,

When you mean separate the normal articles from the job articles are you referring to the articles in the Article Manager?

For your selection have a look at the Dynamic Select.

Hope that helps,

what I mean is this, I have:
Native joomla with their tags and categories.
Seblod content type Job (articles) with the re-used tags and categories - due to copy from joomla native article.
If I for example list all joomla tags, will it include or exclude the tags which I use in Job content type? Same question for categories...

Hi bawkad,

If your Job Content Type has the same tags as the Joomla article, then they will be included. But you could set up the Job Content Type to have different tags and when you search for those, then you will have only the Job Content Types. It seems like tags would be ideal for what you want to do. When you create a new Job, you could assign all of the tags based on key words.

Randy
