I am having a problem all of a sudden where if a form is submitted using both admin and frontend the Seblod tags ::cck::XX::/cck:: are placed in both introtext and fulltext columns of the database. When the form works correctly ::cck::XX::/cck:: should only be in the introtext column.
I found this post in the old Seblod v2 forum;
http://www.seblod.com/v2/forum/105-General-Discussions/40622-Fulltext-gets-replaced-by-Seblod-tags.html
And thought i'd try out the solution suggested by AndersDyre and removed all fields from the Intro. Bam! this works just fine but im sure its not how things should be.
Can anyone shed some light on this so that i can start using the intro field again, what am i doing wrong?

Have you changed the definition of fields?

I didnt change the definition, I had one textarea field that stored into standard/article/fulltext. As the previously linked article suggested, the only solution for me also was to NOT put anything in the INTRO view and then this problem doesnt arise. So the problem is worked around rather than solved but at least I can get on and build as I dont seem to need the intro view anyway.

Hello MarcT,
SEBLOD use the column "introtext" in database to make the bridge between Jomla and SEBLOD, by adding an ID.

If you want to use the Introtext Field, you must use the storage "CUSTOM | Article | introtext[introtext]".
If you want to use the fulltext Field, you must use the storage "CUSTOM | Article | introtext[fulltext]".

You have to use those fields only if you use Joomla List, like "Featured Article", or "Category List", ...
But if you only use SEBLOD Search Type to make your list, you don't need to use those fields. You can put in your content type, two other fields with the standard storage. They will be store in the table of your content type in theire own column without any tag.

Regards.

How does the storage type CUSTOM work with 3rd party extensions that display e.g. the newest articles in a slider module?

And is there a general rule WHEN to use WHAT type of storage for WHICH scenario?

cheers

Hi  CArin,

if your third party is well coded, there is no problem with SEBLOD.

The only thing to check is that the plugin Content SEBLOD must be in the first position in the plugin manager.

If your third party get data directly in database, there is no solution without hacking this extention.

Regards.
