Topic
(EDIT: Turned into a Tracker item 11499 in Resources section)

Salut, I would like to make some suggestions for the forum UX and UI:

  1. "My posts". I am missing a filter/shortcut to my own topics. Either my created. Or even all topics I have commented on.
  2. Forum category names have no link? Please, add link to list-view of the respective category. (Actually the same "find more topics" link which is found at the bottom)
  3. Topic full view lacks a back link. Either a) Link on Category Title or b) history-back button.
  4. Topic title is aligned to right. Somewhat strange for LTR languages.
(I am aware of some visual issues on the left side… but this is caused by the big avatar area and additional infos that waste valuable space. I would try to reduce avatar size and get rid of the padding. The topic label and tree info can be placed in the upper left corner, at least on top of the user info block. Current position makes no sense. And it does get in the way of the actual content area.
Thanks for listening.

Hi pepperstreet,

Thank you for your comments. Please post your feature request in the tracker.

BTW You should be able to see your posts by clicking on your name - then under your latest posts.

Thank you,

Randy

Oops, really? I thought the tracker is for Seblod extension issues only. At least I could not find a proper category to post into… Actually, my post is related to the support forum appearance and usage.

Hi Randy,
In the past I have written to the Tracker as you suggested, but you have to admit that it looks abandoned to itself!
131 Reports = all as "Open"! (only 1 "Pending" and 1 "In Progress"). No replies! (only a few and almost all written by other users).
- Please, Why ?

In that way it is frustrating and useless because it is incomprehensible. I can not understand what is right to do!
In the past I also have written to the Forum trying to ask confirmation about some issues, thinking to be sure before to post in Tracker and not making confusion, but I never received a reply.

I would be too happy to be able to contribuite on Seblod development with my small experience in the right way, but really here the simple things are too complicated to understand.
- Please, what is the right way to do it ?

Hi Joomleb,

I totally understand your frustrations, but there are many new developments in progress! Keep checking the documentation sections for new additions which may have the solutions to your questions. Regarding the tracker, you will generally not get a response. Think of it as a working "To Do" list that the Octopoos team uses to develop SEBLOD.

There might be some overlap between the tracker and the forum which is OK. After asking a question on the forum, it might be determined that the question addresses a bug so then it needs to go into the tracker. But if you have an enhancement request then tracker is the place for it. Of course you if you post an idea here in the forum because you want to discuss it that's OK too!

As far as the forum goes, our goal is to answer all of the questions on the forum in a timely manner and help out as much as possible.

hope that helps,

Randy

Hi Randy,
in first of all many thanks for your quick and detailed answer!
Then, I want be sure you understood that I wrote those words because I love Seblod and Octopoos team efforts :)

After that, What I mean is:
Please, as soon as possible, give us (Seblod community) a way to partecipate on Seblod growing!
Right now, in most of cases (sections), we cannot help.
Examples:
- Have 131 Reports all as "Open" into the tracker and no replies don't give us this opportunity!
- Cannot post our experiences on using Seblod in an ordered way into a Documentation / Manuals section don't give us this opportunity! (There are a lot of "pieces of, yet ready, Documentation" into the forum posts)

Hi Joomleb,

Thanks for your support! The Octopoos team is working on a way for you to share your apps and showcase your sites. There is also a team working on documentation and videos. You can keep track of the progress here on the community page. So things are moving forward.

You could also post a tutorial here in the forums if you figured out how to do something as others have done.

thanks,

Randy

No worries! I just think your ideas might get lost here in the forum. When they look for the next feature requests, they will look that the tracker instead of searching through the forum.
