Hi,

on an upgrade test to Joomla 3.5 I do get on some of my installations the following error message:

Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '=' SQL=SELECT a.id, a.template as name, a.params FROM #__template_styles AS a LEFT JOIN #__cck_core_templates AS b ON b.name = a.template WHERE a.id = 203 AND b.published = 1

Will this be considered in the next Seblod release?

Any idea how to fix?

Thanks and kind regards

Quick fix is to change all databases to the same encoding (utf8_unicode_ci) manually, perhaps your hosting provider changed default encoding from general_ci to unicode_ci between your  joomla and seblod installations. Joomla 3.5. tries to convert databases to utf8mb4 if it exists on the server, but this does not seem to be a problem in your case as both mentioned databases are still utf8 (vs. utf8mb4 )

I had the same problem when I updated my Joomla to 3.5

I think you need to wait until Seblod 3.8 is released, that one is compatible with Joomla 3.5.

I solved my problem by installing my backup I created just before updating. :)

Thanks Klas,

will this be considered in Seblod 3.8 or is the manual fix mandatory?

3.8 should take care of this.
