Hi all,

on Sobipro, for example, you can add some field the user has to pay if he want to fill on it..

You can manage in the Sobipro back end what fields are free and that ones must to be paid to be enabled (see the following screenshot, please)

Is it possible to do the same thing using Seblod?

Thanks in advance

Hello neo-one,

welcome on SEBLOD Forum.

Yes, there is something silmilar with the type of "Plugin Restriction".

You can restrict the access of any field by setting a restriction on it based on what you want, like specifique Joomla access or depending on an other field,...

Regards.

Thanks for the welcome Octopoos Lionel! And thanks for your advice :)

I need to connect the restriction to a payment and to an automatic enabling.

Please, see details and screenshot I added on my reply to Pepperstreet below :)

In addition to a "Restriction" product, you might need to add a 3rd-Party "Subscription" extensions. For instance, people buy a certain subscription plan on your site, which assigns/removes the user to/from a certain usergroup. Apart from usergroups/ACL restriction, some extensions provide content plugins, which can protect whole parts by surrounding the info by a special Syntax. You might know this from regular J! content plugins.

To name a few: Emerald, RSmembership, PayPlans, CBsubs (requires CB) etc.

Those extensions support different Payment methods and providers.

Thanks Pepperstreet! You are absolutely right when you say: "For instance, people buy a certain subscription plan on your site, which assigns/removes the user to/from a certain usergroup"

On the one hand, in the back end I need to set what field is free or not. On the other hand, in the front end the user must automatically to proceed with the payment and enabling the field without any intervention of the administrator of the site.

Look the following screenshot regarding the front end and related to the backend I shared previously (see the item "Company Logo").

In the sobipro I have everything ready. I has never used seblod but I read many positive reviews.

Are there many steps to get the functionality I described as Sobipro?

Is it difficult combine both Filed Restriction and a membership & subscription plugin?  What do you think?

Quite a long time ago since I had a look into SOBI v1 ... but I remember it was very special in regards of field-based payment and restriction. I can't remember another extension, where it worked in such a specific way. It was build to work like that, it has that workflow from the early days, AFAIK.

So, I don't think you can "copy" the exact workflow with two separate extensions. Maybe you could "mimic" it to a certain extend. It also depends on your structure and content types...

AFAIK, there is no similar "field-based" approach in other subscription extension. At least not with Seblod out-of-the-box.

One solution I know is "Emerald" and "Cobalt CCK", where you have a tighter integration on field level. i.e. a Subscription plan can restrict one or more fields in different tasks (submit, edit, view, display, etc.). You don't even need a usergroup/ACL. Although, you do not have the SOBI behavior, where you can check the additonal field during submission... as an optional price addon. I think, this is quite unique in SOBI.

Back to Seblod... I don't think that you can get the "buy-this-field" feature with another Subscription extension. Even if it provides a plugin syntax. Most likely, the subscription software will display a restriction hint or placeholder... and you might also show a link to buy a certain subscription plan. Actually, that will redirect the user to a plan purchase page.

If you want multiple and independently restricted fields, you would need multiple plans. Or group certain premium fields in one plan. Or allow a certain usergroup/plan to access all premium fields.

Quite different to what SOBI does.
