Hi guys,

I know there are uninstallation and update problems yet in Tracker and under investigation.
This is why I want report this issue I have on a NEW Joomla 3.2.3 + Seblod 3.3.3 installation that, maybe, can be related with those issues:
  • Server: PHP 5.4.8 - mySQLi 5.5.32-cll - Apache 2.2.26
  • I installed a new empty Joomla 3.2.3 = Ok
  • I purged cache in Joomla Update = Ok
  • In Global Configuration > Server > Error Reporting: Development
  • I installed Seblod 3.3.3 (Upload Package File or Install From Directory give the same result) = Ok any error is shown
  • looking on the Extension Manager > Discover: cliking on "Discover" button: 3 config - plugin - cck_storage_location are shown! Why?!?

Discover is Joomla function, so this would be a Joomla bug, there is only one plugin installed, you can check it yourself by going to plugins folders

Hi Klas,
Many Thanks for reply. Please, Where can I find that plugin ? Could you give me the exact path ?

Sorry, but I'm not agree with you. "Discover" is a Joomla feature that works great. Never had problems with it.
In past "Discover" reported me 2 components plugins and developers fixed their installation files to solve the issue.
Sure you know its work:

"In some cases, when you update to a new Joomla version, new core extensions are added. If there were problems with the database update, these extensions may not have been correctly installed. To check this, navigate to Extension Manager: Discover. Then click on the Discover icon in the toolbar.
- Discover Screen With No Extensions To Install: If so, you know that any new extensions added during the udpate were correctly installed in the database.
- Discover Screen With some Extensions To Install: In this case, check the check boxes and click on the Install icon in the toolbar. Joomla will install the extension(s) and then display the screen showing no extensions discovered. At this point, the new extensions have been installed in the database.
"

  • In first of all is too strange to have back 3 times the same plugin!
  • Then, unfortunately selecting on the plugin and click on the install button you have back a Warning message:
Warning
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_storage_location/config
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_storage_location/config
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/...plugins/cck_storage_location/config
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_storage_location/config
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Discover is Joomla function, only installing Seblood I have back these alerts (tested with 15 components), Seblod is having disintallation and updating problems, so is logical think that should be a Seblod installation package bug.
Ignore the message is not a clever solution, maybe there is something to fix in the Seblod installation package...

Hi,

I investigated this - discover thinks config.xml files in joomla_article, joomla_category and joomla_user storage plugins are install files, which is not correct, it should only be reading only xml files with the same name as plugin folder (e.g. joomla_article.xml ) so this is truly a Joomla bug.

You can report it on joomla bug tracker or just ignore it as it has no effect on functionality.

I am using Joomla version 3.3.0 and Seblod 3.3.4 -- running PHP Version 5.3.28. After installing Seblod, none of my Seblod configuration settings would actually SAVE ... UNLESS I turned on debugging -- odd, no?

I could not edit a User either ...  but editing Articles worked. Initially I also showed 3 config - plugin - cck_storage_location.

I tried reinstalling after ensuring max_input_vars and max_file_uploads were recommended values.
Hmmm.... not sure what do try doing next ... uninstall and reinstall??

I downgraded to package Joomla 3.2.4  which seemed to solve the above, but now when I install Seblod I see this:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Plus

Message
Installing package was successful.

Last, now though ... Seblod component does not appear in my admin menu > component list, but Construction menu item is there and Seblod is lsted in the Global Config area...

Thx for any suggestions to test or remedy the situation. And skraak! I did not backup my site before upgrading Joomla. Brain fart!
