Tip: Edit Form must be Inherited

Hi folks

I got confused when trying to give users the ability to edit their user info.

In my List & Search View I had:

  • Button Free field

    • Content Type (Form): User

    • Menu Item: Inherited

No joy.

Kept getting passed to a new form.

ALL I HAD TO DO WAS  SET IT LIKE THIS:

  • Button Free field
    • Content Type (Form): Inherited
    • Menu Item: Inherited

THEN ANOTHER FIELD WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LOOK LIKE THIS:

  • Button Free field
    • Content Type (Form): Inherited
    • Menu Item: Inherited
    • Edition: Yes

One simple setting error made me sweat for days
