The uninstall of SEBLOD none or not all tables have been deleted.
If you are now newly install already exist some entries.
You need to after uninstall until the cck_ tables in the DB manually delete.

Hi all,
SEBLOD is a package, not a component.
So when you want to remove SEBLOD from a website, you must remove the package. In Joomla Extension manager filter extension by package, then select SEBLOD and then "delete".

By this way, removing SEBLOD don't need a manual intervention on database.

You can see the explaination here

Regards.

Hi!

I deleted seblod "the wrong way" by marking all related plugins, modules, components etc. and clicking the unistall button. Then I got a problem: somehow my articles are overlapping with the position of my template where the module bar is supposed to be displayed. This means that the articles are overlapping with the module bar. So I installed seblod again and deleted it "the right way" by deleting the package. The problem still exists.

So is the solution to delete the cck_tables manually? If yes, how would I do that? I know how to open the tables in phpmyadmin, but I have no idea which tables are related with seblod so I am worried I will delete the wrong tables?

Thanks!

Hi Lionel,
Cannot updating to last Seblod 3.3.3 I tested to uninstall and reinstall following your suggestion:

1 - Extension manager filter extension by package, then select SEBLOD and then "unnstall":
Warning
Failed deleting fr-FR.files_var_cck_joomla.sys.ini
Failed to delete /home/.../language/fr-FR/fr-FR.files_var_cck_joomla.sys.ini
Failed deleting fr-FR.files_var_cck_seb_css3.sys.ini
Failed to delete /home/.../language/fr-FR/fr-FR.files_var_cck_seb_css3.sys.ini
Failed deleting fr-FR.com_cck.ini
Failed to delete /home/.../language/fr-FR/fr-FR.com_cck.ini
Failed deleting fr-FR.com_cck_default.ini
Failed to delete /home/.../language/fr-FR/fr-FR.com_cck_default.ini
Failed deleting fr-FR.pkg_app_cck_joomla_article.ini
...and so on for all fr-FR files

2 - So I installed and uninstalled the Seblod fr-FR languge pack files

3 - I installed Seblod 3.3.3:
Warning
JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDJOOMLAXMLSETUPFILE
JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDXMLSETUPFILE

4 - I installed again Seblod 3.3.3:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@... and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

5 - Reload the page and:
An error has occurred
1062 Duplicate entry '1-1-SEBLOD 3.x-' for key 'idx_client_id_parent_id_alias_language' SQL=UPDATE amfi_menu SET alias = "SEBLOD 3.x", path="SEBLOD 3.x" WHERE link = "index.php?option=com_cck"

Please, Do you have any suggestment ?

Try unistalling the package again, also check for any seblod leftovers in the extenison manager (component. cck plugins etc), from your error it seems seblod is already installed.

Also you can aslo remove any #__cck_  tables from your database.

Hi Klas, Many Thanks for reply. I made tests for 24h following your instructions. So:

Are 20 days that I'm trying to update to last Seblod 3.3.3 two live sites "Joomla 3.2.3 + Seblod 3.3.2 + ..." installations.
I want put you in evidence that on both installations I have I checked into the "History/Log added for all Install/Update/Uninstall events" feature added from Seblod 3.2.0 and seem that I updated Seblod from 3.2.0 to 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 to 3.3.2 - So seem I had no updated from 3.2.2 to 3.3.0 to 3.3.1 to 3.3.2 but directly 3.2.2 (or previous) to 3.3.2.

1 - I uninstalled Acymailing Seblod tag plugin, Seblod language files I installed and Seblod Updater plugin = Ok

2 - I discover that the Warning message about fr-Fr files during Seblod Package uninstallation can be avoided installing before the last fr-Fr Seblod language file. So, I installed fr-Fr Seblod language file = Ok

3 - Extension manager filter extension by package, then select SEBLOD 3.3.2 and then "unnstall" = Ok

4 - As you suggested I checked if any seblod leftovers in the extenison manager, I discovered logically the fr-Fr languge file that uninstalling give me errors and the CCK field - Author plugin.
Checked it and uninstalled:
Warning
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/...2/plugins/cck_field/author
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :delete: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/.../plugins/cck_field/author
There are no extensions installed matching your query

5 -  I installed Seblod 3.3.3:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@... and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Reload the page and:
Warning
JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDJOOMLAXMLSETUPFILE
JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDXMLSETUPFILE

I noted that the Component Menu > Seblod is not shown while the Construction Menu yes.
Anyway all the Article/User - List&Search forms are still the old ones.

6 - So, again went to Extension manager filter extension by package. Selected SEBLOD 3.3.3  and then "uninstall" = Ok, no seblod leftovers in the extenison manager.

7 - I installed again Seblod 3.3.3:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@... and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Reload the page and:
An error has occurred
1062 Duplicate entry '1-1-SEBLOD 3.x-' for key 'idx_client_id_parent_id_alias_language' SQL=UPDATE amfi_menu SET alias = "SEBLOD 3.x", path="SEBLOD 3.x" WHERE link = "index.php?option=com_cck"

No Component Menu > Seblod and Construction Menu installed

8 - So, installed over again Seblod 3.3.3:
Error
JLIB_DATABASE_ERROR_MENU_UNIQUE_ALIAS
Warning
JLIB_INSTALLER_ABORT_COMP_BUILDADMINMENUS_FAILED
MessageInstalling package was successful.

No Component Menu > Seblod and Construction Menu installe

9 - Anyway, again went to Extension manager filter extension by package, then select SEBLOD 3.3.3 and then "uninstall" = Ok
Checked and disinstalling from Seblod 3.3.3 there aren't anymore seblod leftovers in the extenison manager.

10 - So erased all CCK mySQLi tables and re-installed again Seblod 3.3.3:

  • No Construction Menu installed
  • a strange "seblod" Component Menu > Seblod appear on the bottom of the list, instead of "SEBLOD 3.x"
  • Logically, finally, now all the Article/User - List&Search forms are the new ones.
  • I cleared the cache, but going into Seblod > Options > Integrations: I cannot see any button on any tab!
11 - Tested also reinstalling over another time Seblod 3.3.3, but still the same 1062 error and results...

Please, Can you help me to solve this issue ?!?
I can provide you credentials on the test site, credentials for phpMyAdmin, an Akeeba Backup entire site/db copy... all what is need to try to solve this issue, I'm really crazying... :(

Do you have any backup from BEFORE you uninstalled seblod the first time? This would be relaly the easies way - uninstall isn't recommended due to this leftovers problems, all you need to do is install new version over old one.

Randy looked into this uninstall problem and wrote a tutorial on this, but unfortunatelly it isn't published yet, he will be able to give you more details

HI Klas,
  • Yes, sure all tests have been done on a copy of the live site. On the live site I never uninstalled Seblod.
  • Installing the last Seblod 3.3.3 over Seblod 3.3.2 ( Seblod History/Log: 3.0 new installation > 3.0.1 > 3.0.2 > 3.0.3 > 3.0.4 > 3.1.0 > 3.1.1 > 3.1.2 > 3.1.3 > 3.1.4 > 3.1.5 > 3.2.0 > 3.2.1 > 3.2.2 > 3.3.0 NO > 3.3.1 NO > 3.3.2 NO > 3.3.2) there are any errors and/or warnings, but simply don't update Forms as I reported here (I don't know if there are others problems, others things not updated)
  • I red about Randy's tutorial, but it is 10 days old and tutorial doesn't appear to be available yet. I don't know what's happened...

Hi,

the fact that content and search types that come with fresh installation of seblod are not updated on updates is quite normal, this can be compared to joomla sample data - adding or changing anything in types could break your site or add unwanted things. You still have an option to do fresh install on another site and export desired types as apps and then import them in the upgraded instalation.

Hi Klas,
really many thanks to help me on understanding and solving this issue!

  1. Not only the content and search types that come with fresh installation of seblod are not updated, but seem also the layouts on editing Users and Aricles for ex., Is it normal ?
  2. "is quite normal" = Do you mean that on any Seblod 3.3.2 (or3.x) > 3.3.3 updates content and search types that come with fresh installation of Seblod are not updated OR that it depends on How I setted and worked on Seblod ?
Do I made any mistakes in the management of Seblod?
  3. Because on those installations Seblod is like a standard fresh installation + some Seblod Options configurations + few changes on User Content Form. Nothing more. No lists & Searches.
(All what I done right now are on tests sites).
  4. I would prefer to have Seblod like a fresh installation also on that sites. Since I'm learning Seblod It can help me too much.
If needed, then, I can keep offline few minutes the sites and re-set Seblod Options and the few changes on User Content Form.
  5. Please, How can I update to Seblod 3.3.3 as if it were a fresh installation and keep safe the "Seblod Articles" (standard) and Seblod Users (standard joomla fields) ?

Only way I can think of to do this currently (until uninstall is fixed) would be to create fresh installation of joomla + seblod and export articles from old site using http://www.seblod.com/products/9 and then re-import them back to new install using http://www.seblod.com/products/7

Hi Klas,

  • Sorry, I don't understand: Is the "uninstall issue" under fixing and/or Is the Randy tutorial under reviewing ? In both cases, What is the planned release date ?
  • about your suggestion (many thanks): ...mmm... those sites are running together with others 10 Components... Pease, Do you have any suggestions on how to testing your way ?
  • you wrote: "is quite normal" = Do you mean that on any Seblod 3.3.2 (or3.x) > 3.3.3 updates content and search types that come with fresh installation of Seblod are not updated OR that it depends on How I setted and worked on Seblod ? Did I made any mistakes in the management of Seblod?
  • I would like to try to upgrade a fresh clean Seblod 3.1.5 to 3.3.3 and see what happen. Please, do you have a Seblod 3.1.5 to send to me ?

  • both are under review / beeing worked on. I'm linking to draft of Randies tutorial in pdf format for you TEST -  please note this it NOT AN OFFICIAL GUIDE as it hasn't been reviewed yet by developers so anyone performing it should do it only in test enviroment : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5404851/SEBLOD%20Reinstall%20Tutorial.pdf
  • that was just an idea, not a real solution in your case it seems, unless you would also manually copy data from databases, but then it is easier to clean seblod leftovers manually
  • in my opinion changes to content and search/list types that come with fresh installations should not be done on upgrades as this can break existing content. Content types and search types that come with seblod are just samples of what can be done with seblod (a kind of sample content that comes with Joomla) and e.g if you modify them, any update that changes those samples would be break what you have done there. This is why I say it is normal - please note I haven't verified this with developers yet, will do this now and get back to you.

An option is to export new types as apps from fresh install and import them into old one, but this won't update existing types and content, it will create new content/search types (which is fine for search, but probably not for content types). If you need to update existing types your best option is to  manually add changed fields to them.

  • "I'm attaching draft of Randies tutorial in pdf format for you TEST" = I cannot see any pdf, Do you have my email to send it ? joomla AT egulp DOT net
  • "but then it is easier to clean seblod leftovers manually" = this mean uninstall and reinstall Seblod (and wait the uninstall fix / Randy tutorial), am I right ? Any supposed release date ?
  • ...thinking on this issue and knowing how much is important for me follow the standad installations to learn Seblod, my opinion is that Seblod should always update all. Users should work with Seblod in first of all creating a new main App folder (as "Joomla" / "Seblod") and put all their works changements and so on into this folder (so Seblod know to don't touch it during updates). Maybe Seblod could Create by default a main "myApp" folder, this is the folder where to copt in apps, building apps etc. etc. that Seblod will never touch. Leaving the "Seblod" App folder for the official Apps I'll download install from "Products".
Curios to have from you news as you spoke with developers.
  •  Please, do you have a Seblod 3.1.5 package to send to me?

Just got confirmation that my thinking on content / search&list types that come with install was correct. For the offical apps, as far as I know apps section of this site is in the making

I'm not agree on this, is too important folllow the Seblod default datas, and also because updates seem to have no effect on Form & Content layouts.
This situation generates a lot of confusion with tutorials/forum suggestions/manuals/videos... in special to newbie.
I still think that Seblod should always update all.
How
:
  • Seblod should Create by default a main "myApp" folder (a main level as "Joomla" / "Seblod"), this is the folder where to building apps, copying in apps for use, modifing them etc. etc. that Seblod will never touch during updates. Leaving the "Seblod" App folder as folder where import the official Apps I'll download from "Products".
  • locking all default datas that Seblod will always updates. Users can only copy those Apps into the new "myApp" folder to use them as examples/base to start/use Apps.
Please, Do you have a Seblod 3.1.5 package to send to me ?
