Hi,

I am quite desparate, so I hope someone can help me.

I wanted to try out SEBLOD and installed the latest version of SEBLOD on a working site which is built on the latest version of Joomla.

I also installed the SEBLOD Joomla! User restriction plug in.

I then wanted to uninstall it, and I went to "Extensions" -> "Extension Manager" ->"Manage"

I searched for SEBLOD, clicked on 'select all' (there was several pages of items) and then on 'uninstall'.

Now, when I try to access the backend or front end main site I see the login page but then when i log in it is just a blank page. A 'view source' on the page shows an empty page. not even html tags.

(if I log in with an invalid username/password then it displays a page with 'Warning Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.', so I know that I am logging in correctly.)

I looked in the logs (in administrator/logs/Error.php) and it shows the messages when I put in the wrong username and password but it doesnt show any messages for the blank pages. There are no other files in the administrator/logs folder that have changed recently.

I dont really know where to look to try to find a problem.

In administrator/modules there are forlder 'mod_cck_quickadd' and 'mod_cck_quickicon' that were both created today. should I delete them ?

In administrator/components there is a folder 'com_cck' that was created today. Should I delete that ?

In plugins/user there is a folder 'cck' also created today. Should I delete it ?

In modules there are 4 folders - 'mod_cck_form', 'mod_cck_list', 'mod_cck_search' and 'mod_cck_breadcrumbs' also created today. Should I delete them ?

I dont want to make the situation worse.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi

I’m no expert on this, but if was me, I would create a site using most recent backup and compare the two, then delete / revert accordingly the files and db

But if can’t do that, then create a new install of Joomla... then delete / revert accordingly the files and db...

And then get Akeeba backup in to your routine ASAP

Thankyou for the reply.

I do use Akeeba - though obviously not often enough ! I didn't think that installing a component and then uninstalling it was a risk.

I moved the folders that I referenced above and am now able to log into my site. But I dont know how to uninstall SEBLOD properly. I see lots of references to ckk and wish I could remove them.

At least my site is working, though.

If you have uninstalled everything from the “Extensions - manage” part of admin all you can do is manually delete.

There will probably be db tables you need to remove, this happens with other extensions, too.

The Administrator component 'SEBLOD 3.x' is still in 'Extensions->Manage'. When I try to uninstall it, it fails wth the message 'Class 'JCckDatabase' not found'. I guess that this is because I moved some folders manually and so now they are not there. I might try to put some back and try to uninstall.

Is there any way to know what I need to remove from the database ?

Thanks

thanks. i dropped all those tables.

I still see SEBLOD on different pages, like when i create a new menu item, there are SEBLOD menu item types. or when i go into options, and then its one of the components listed down the side.

I really don't know how to drop it altogether.

Install Seblod again. Then go to extensions and de-install Seblod component. It should deinstall all other extensions too.

Otherwise - never ever TRY anything ont he live site. And do backup before you install anything.

Thankyou for your reply.

I tried to install Seblod and got the error message

"0 Class 'JCckDatabase' not found"

When I search for SEBLOD under 'Manage Extensions', I see

SEBLOD 3.x

SEBLOD Position Variation - joomla

SEBLOD Position Variation - seb_css3

When I try to uninstall the Administrator Component 'SEBLOD 3.x' I get the same message:

"0 Class 'JCckDatabase' not found"

Thanks
