UNITED POST FOR THE PROBLEMS OF THE seblod FORUM

Hi everyone,

I want to make this an united post about the problems with the Seblod forum, Seblod forum, Seblod forum. (because we can't find the posts we want I've just repeated it for general SEO searches) :-)

So many talks have been said about the Seblod forum, so many feature requests have been made, BUT SO LITTLE CHANGES. I see some changes, here in the forum, but its not enough, its a big community and it needs at least the basic futures.

So many errors while posting, so many elementary missing things, like the distance between the "New line" when the enter key is pressed. And the list goes on forever!

I have so many cases writing answers or topics for eg 30 mins and pressing the Submit button, and the post goes to f*** nowhere with some f*** error, and I loose the writing, and I forget what I've wrote, and what I was thinking, and I give up. This is not a forum!!! Now when I write something, on this so called forum, I try not to forget to copy the text before submiting. Most of the times there is some error while posting, OR THE SESSION TIME IS TOO SHORT AND WE HAVE TO LOGIN AGAIN.

I've told seblod (not SEBLOD on purpose) many times, for example here:

Please note that to insert a new line I've used the ¬ symbol, I'm going to use it for all my future posts (if I don't forget). I encourage you to use it, or any symbol, until this simple problem is not sorted out by sEBLOd.

Also please note that to insert the link above I had to search google for: "What is Seblod, is it worth it? Specially the forum?". In the so called "My bookmarks" the url is: "http://www.seblod.com/member-account/my-bookmarks/17786".

Please tell the Seblod team what do you think of their forum and what do you want it to be, here in this post.

But I try to remember to copyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, before I submit. Ha, ha seblod.
It's interesting why the first time it gives error and the second time submits!!!

I am not sure wether you have trouble with SEBLOD or with the forum.
I f you have such bad feelings abour SEBLOD, then just quit and find a CCK which fits you better.
If it is the forum, ok, point taken, but I guess most of the members want SEBLOD to spend their time on the software not so much on the forum.
If I am still wrong and you meant something else, then I apologize.

I don't have bad feelings, I like SEBLOD, that's why I want it to be better. The problems are with the forum, I wish it was just a normal forum component like kunena or any else. When you start loosing your posts because of errors you will understand.

Thanks for your passion about SEBLOD. As I've mentioned a few times before on similar posts you've made like this - the Octopoos team are aware of the concerns with the forum and are working on helping to make it more user friendly. This process takes time so please be patient. If you want to avoid the Data Integrity Check error, you need to only have 1 SEBLOD forum tab open at once. If you have more than one open with more than 1 form open it will cause this error.
We've just published a new blog post on how the community can be involved more and help SEBLOD - http://www.seblod.com/community/blog/opening-seblod-up-to-the-community If you want to help, this is the way to do it. Specifically, if you are able to be involved more in helping answer the questions of new users on the forums and contributing your knowledge back to the community, then it means that the Octopoos team have more time to focus on development.

How hard is to change the life time of the sessions, currently I think it's set to 15 mins, it's about a minute to change it to let's say at least 60 mins?
I'm not staying in the SEBLOD forum all day trying to remember otherwise ordinary things, like remember to insert symbols for new lines, remember to copy before submit, remember to have only one tab open...., there are already so many things to remember when I try to write something here that I forget what I was about to write, and even if I have the desire to help when I know what is waiting for me here I'm dropping the idea, as I'm not longer keen on it.

Hi Ricco,
It's not hard to change, but it has a lot of other implications for the way the site operates. It may seem simple to you but there are a lot of things to consider when the session lifetime is extended like this.

By the way, I've learned how to insert new lines, eventually, if anyone wants to you know please send me a private message! I'm joking :-). I copy the text in the Notepad before posting it, or I just write the posts and answers in Notepad.
