I'm looking to create an app that has the potential to have hundreds of user groups.  Each group is to only access their own content.  Members of a group will all have the same permissions to maintain their content.

So, I am trying to figure out what would be the best setup.  Just use Joomla's user group structure or to put all of the users into a single user group and then use Seblod to create some custom field to identify what content they can access?  I've built a couple of Joomla sites, but they didn't need multiple user groups, so this is uncharted territory for me.

Hi gpraceman,

Managing hundreds of user groups could be a pain - why would you need so many?  Perhaps this post will help?

thanks,

It is intended to be a subscription based site.  I'll check into Akeeba subscriptions, mentioned in the post that you linked.
