Hi

When we developp a multi language site we often create fields in french. Using JTEXT the field names are replaced by COM_CCK_fieldname

We understand it but it means that EVEN for the initial language (here french) we have to edit each field in the Joomla language Substitution tool and tell again that COM_CCK_fieldname has to be translated in ...just fieldname !!

is there a way to have the default language strings automatically set to what we just wrote in the first place please?

Of course for the other languages we will have to set the strings manually but this is very weird to have to write things TWICE. I may have missed something here.

Thanks for your help

We have found that the strings all need to be CAPITALS.

So when you add the strings make sure they are UPPERCASE from the start.

Hi cyril,

It's not the field name, it is the label which is important for the override.

See here !
The field name is "username" the label is "Login Name".
SEBLOD will define the override constant: COM_CCK_LOGIN_NAME not COM_CCK_USERNAME.

In the Language Manager -> Overrides must now be defined this constant for each language that you need.

First Select the Filter <your language> -Administrator.

Language Constant: COM_CCK_LOGIN_NAME
Text: Your translation eg. Login Name
Marked the checkbox "For both locations" (the constante is then applied for backend and frontend)
Save it

If the language is not available for the constant, SEBLOD will then display the label.
So you can make the label in your language for other languages define the constante.
