Hello! Can you give me a hint how to add radius search in Map Template? I want to have at least a list of Zip Codes and a list of defined locations. The search result should not exclude items but each item should receive a distance to the search form input. Then i´m able to sort it by distance. Hope i described it clear.

Hi Elisa,

very good question and I want add for Seblod Team that should be a must for the new Places App!

But, as far as I can understand, this feature is not listed in "List & Search Types"...

I am also interested in this feature.  Additionally, it would be nice to have an open source map option such as Leaflet or Openlayers to display location data on a closed network where Google cloud services are unavailable.

So there isn´t a solution for that, yet? :-/

Hi James,

Why not open a campaign like done for router ?

I'm sure that a lot of Sebloders will submit it...

@Seblod Team: I'm looking to submit a "Premium" membership, Is this sufficient to help James on develop a "search by radius" field?

Hi all interested in this feature,

The feature will be available in the next release of SEBLOD (3.4) which will be available by the end of next week.

You will need to install the Address to Coordinates field in order to use this feature (because of course all your items that you want to search need a longitude and latitude in order to calculate the radius).

The functionality is handled as a "Match" setting (Button 3) which you apply to your Address to Coordinates field (see below). In the "+" options, you will input the name of your radius input field, which you could use a Select Numeric field for.

Thanks,

James

James,

Thank you for making this extension.  I like the concept but I can't seem to make it work.  I am able to create geocoorded data with the address to coordinates field, but I am not able to filter by radius.  I have attached a screenshot of what I think are the relevant portions of the list and search type, maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong (Hopefully the resolution of my attached picture is sufficient to see the fields)...  Thanks.

Sincerely,

Eric

I have the exact same scenario and problem that Eric Davis posted above. Was there ever a resolution for this?

Thanks!

HI

I wonder how we could filter contents that are with a given radius around the current viewer location (based on the IP I guess).

It is possible to get the longitude/latitude of the visitor according to its IP.

In the search by radius video we see the center of the search is given by the AddressTOcoordinates field but how can we set up the search center with the visitor's location please ?

Thanks

Hi Cyril,

some elements

  • Get the user IP
  • Request location info (city, region, department, country...) in regards of the IP (approximative location)
  • Request longitude and latitude by Google API (address to coordinates plugin)

For the point 2 we suggest to use maxmind database and the apache module related.

Another solution is to request to the user his location (the location is sure in this case).

Thanks.
