Hello,

I have created a search form but it will not display any results when I click the search button.  I am using Seblod 3.6.2 and the Search Generic plugin. Can someone tell me if any other plugins are required and also a specific how to example.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Welcome to SEBLOD! It's hard to debug with the information you've provided, because we can't see how you've configured your List & Search Type as well as the Search Generic field.

Can you please send some screenshots of your List & Search Type Setup, along with how you have configured the Search Generic field?

Thanks,

James

Here are more the details on the configuration.  When I select the search button on the front end search form I no results are displayed it is just a blank output with no error message.  Please let me know if I can provide any other information.

Thanks all.

Hi there,

Thanks for sending that. Can you please also send pictures of when you click the [2] and [3] button in your search form too? I'm also a bit confused because originally you said that you were having problems with the Search Generic field, but you have not included it at all in your search form?

Cheers,

James

I am new to Seblod so if there is a step by step documentation on how to do this let me know.  Thanks for your help!

Hi there,

When you first created your List & Search Type, you clicked "Create Blank" instead of choosing the type of content you were searching for (which is a "User").

What you need to do now is:

  • click [2] button in your search form
  • click the << arrows next to your CCK field
  • Select "user"
  • Click the [3] button
  • Change the "match" setting on your CCK field to "exact"

That should work now!

Thanks,

James

Hi

I have created a custom business directory content type using seblod and its working perfect. But now I am stuck with creating a searching form for it. I just wanted to give single input field to search for anything present in the business directory like contact number, contact person, keywords(tags), title of listing, content etc.

So I planned to use generic search field in List and Search Type. Here I am attaching the screenshot of what I have provided in generic field setting: -

and here is the settings of the search form in list and search type : -

Then I have created a menu item for this newly created "Search Business Entry" by going to menu item, choosing seblod list and search type menu item and choosing my search type as "search business entry"

Now it displays a single input field with Search Me label on the page, all is good at this point, but when I try to search anything in this form, no result shows. I have tried searching title, contact person, keyword tags , anything not working, even not showing message that "no result found", it just refreshes the page thats it. So is anybody have idea what I am missing or what problem should be? Also is there a way to show a search button with this generic search field? Currently it showing like this in frontend

and only way to perform search is pressing enter key on keyboard.

Thanks

Did you select the right type of content when you created search type (as described in the last answer before yours, just different content type)?

If this does not help enable debugging in search type to see query produced by the search.

And please don't reopen 11 months old threads, open new one for each problem.
