Two Identical Fields::Different Purposes?

Hi Folks

I am hoping for some advice on two fields used in the Comments Manager List & Search Type in the Comments App.

"Comment State": "seb_comment_state"
"Comment State (2)": " seb_comment_state_2"

They both (seem to) have identical functionality except 

"seb_comment_state": "Match: Any Words Exact"
"seb_comment_state_2": "Match: Exact"
